The bins are packed, the kits are assembled, the new titles have been shipped to my automatic customers, and now I am working on the last items on my "Things To Do" list before the Nashville Needlework Market.
This trade show is so different from the usual convention center shows, as the booth is set up right in our hotel room. The show is held at an Embassy Suites, and the front room is used for display and the back room for our sales table and extra stock. I bring all kinds of pretty tablecloths and props to make it look inviting.

The wholesale needlework markets are held 3- 4 times a year, but the preparation can last for months. The most important aspect of this show is releasing new designs. There is always a rush to have them finished, photographed, charted, proofed and then printed on time. The printer provides color proof sheets for each title, which must be carefully checked for errors and color accuracy. I will be releasing 7 new leaflets, and although they are all in the usual small Sweet Nothings format, several have multiple folds - due to their finished size.

We returned on Monday from our quick trip to Arizona, and visited two shops in the Phoenix area over the weekend. On Friday morning, we took time before meeting friends for golf to visit Attic Needlework & Collectibles in Mesa. I have seen pictures of Jean's magnificent sampler collection but it was overwhelming ( and wonderful) to see them in person Now I can pictures exactly where Jean spends most of her time - gathering new charts, fabrics , fibers and accessories for her customers.

Tomorrow I'm off to Scottsdale, AZ for a quick trip. I'll meet my husband after his meeting ends and then we will have a few whirlwind days of traveling. I'm planning to stop in to see Jean Lea at the Attic Needlework in Mesa on Friday morning. It will be such a treat to visit her shop as I've always wanted to see her amazing collection of samplers. So if you are in the Mesa area that morning - stop in to say hello! And if I can find time, will also stop in to see Janice at Old Town Needlework in Scottsdale.
Then we're off to meet longtime friends for the afternoo
Thank you for taking time to preview my collection of cross stitch designs. As the sole designer, my goal is to present simple, yet elegant patterns of the highest quality.
The designs are primarily presented in a small booklet format - called Sweet Nothings. Many of the charts use charms and buttons, and these have been packaged separately so that you will have access to all of the accessories.
Each booklet lists the finishing sources for the custom designed pillows, aprons and other products which are available through JBW Designs.
New products are released 3 - 4 times per year, and although there are over 200 patterns in the line, a number of the early designs are now out-of-print.
